- INVOLVED: Mike Chang and Quinn Fabray
- TIMEFRAME: Friday evening.
- LOCATION: Mike’s apartment
Quinn: Quinn had a wonderful day shopping with Rachel. She knew her mom was probably going to flip out when she got her emergency credit card bill. But in Quinn’s defense, shopping in New York was an emergency. She didn’t know when she’d be able to ever do something like this again plus she had to make sure Jacob looked extra cute if she was going to be in his life. Not that the things Mike dressed him in wasn’t cute. She just liked the things she bought him more. All in all, Quinn had a wonderful day. A few times did she want to sneak away and get her fix but the smile on Jacob’s face kept her together. She couldn’t be a drug addict and in his life and she wasn’t going to be high around him. Even if she was a little cranky since it’s been a little over two days. Once she got back to Mike’s, she put Jake down for a nap and began rummaging through the cabinets, wanting to make something nice for Mike since he had not only taken her to see the Lion King on Broadway but also woke her up with a bunch of bacon. She had just put the dish in the oven when she heard the familiar giggle. Laughing along, Quinn walks out of the kitchen and to Jake’s crib, picking him up, smoothing out his new shirt and then moving to back into the kitchen to make sure everything was coming along, bouncing him gently on her hip.
Mike: The day could not have ended fast enough for Mike. Being a model was definitely a new experience for him. It was kind of fun, and he met a lot of interesting people, but it was exhausting. Everyone was always moving at lightening speed. It also didn’t help that he was looking forward to getting home the whole day. He hadn’t spent time with Quinn and Jake since this morning, and he only had a little bit of time left with his friend before she went back. After what seemed like forever, he reached his door and let himself in. His collared shirt had the first two buttons unbuttoned. He was sure he looked a little tired, but it wasn’t too bad. “Hey, I’m home.” Figuring that the blonde was in the kitchen, he walked over there. He greeted Quinn with a side hug and kissed Jake on the head. “Whoa. Look at your new threads little man. Did you get him these?”
Quinn: Quinn looks back and gives Mike a light smile, taking in his appearance. “Hi,” she greets him, eyeing the two undone buttons for a moment before letting herself answer his question. “Yes, I did,” she answers. “Rachel and I should never be allowed in a baby’s clothing store but you’ll be happy to know he won’t be needing any new clothes for quite some time.” She shifts her weight a little, turning more toward Mike, her jealous rising up inside of her. “How was your day?” She asked, not really wanting to hear about all the beautiful and hot models hanging all over him.
Mike: Mike lightly shakes his head and laughs. “You really did not have to do that, but thank you.” The dancer knew that between Quinn, Rachel, Kurt, Blaine, and Britt, Jake was going to be the most fashionable kid for as long as they could dress him. When Quinn asked about work, Mike simply shrugged. “It was intense. I’m not used to being the center of attention, so having a guy focusing on me with a camera was a little weird.”
Quinn: “I’m sure you loved having all the girl’s attention on you though,” she snaps a little, feeling really embarrassed afterwards. She didn’t own Mike and he wasn’t her boyfriend. If he wanted to be with other girls, he could be. She clears her throat and shifts Jake in her arms, smiling lightly, trying to move past the embarrassment of what just happened. “Why don’t you go take a shower while I finish up dinner?” she suggests, thinking she needs to a bit of a breather.
Mike: Most guys might have been a little pissed at the way Quinn just acted, but in all honesty, he was kind of used to it. Tina was always pretty jealous, and if the blonde was acting that way, then it showed that she did at least care. “Eh, didn’t really notice. I was thinking about this blonde friend of mine that I was excited to come home too.” When Quinn suggested the shower, Mike thought that actually sounded pretty amazing. “Good idea. Thanks for cooking, Quinnifer. I really appreciate it.” With that, he walked into the bathroom.
Quinn: She smiles lightly at his comment about being more excited to see then modeling. She made a mental note to apologize to Mike later about how she acted but for now, he was getting in the shower and she was finishing up dinner. She puts Jake in his high chair, making sure he was in safely before checking on the food. She sets the table out while she waits for Mike to be out and for dinner to be done.
Mike: The shower only took him about fifteen minutes top, but when he turned off the water and dried off, he realized that he didn’t bring a change of clothes with him. Not thinking anything of it, the dancer wraps the towel around his waist and walked out towards his living room. Quinn was setting the table, and he smiled sheepishly at her and laughs a little. “I forgot clothes. Is dinner ready? I’ll just change really quick in the room.” With that, he walked into his bedroom and accidentally leaves the door cracked slightly.
Quinn: Quinn glances up from the table when she hears the bathroom door open, fully expecting a clothed Mike to come out. But instead she got a naked Mike. Not that she was complaining or anything but it made her head all fuzzy again with the idea of claiming him as hers. “Uh…soon,” she manages to get out, licking her lips. She notices the crack in the door of his room and it takes a lot more than she wants to ever admit to turn away and head to the stove, pulling the lasagna out and bringing it to the table. “Ready,” she calls out.
Mike: Hearing Quinn call out to him, Mike walks out as he is pulling his t shirt over his head. He walks over to the table and sits across from Quinn with Jake in his high chair between them. His eyes immediately land on the lasagna, and he knew his mouth watered. “This looks amazing, Quinnifer. Thank you so much. You’ve been great this weekend. Not only with dinner but with all you’ve done with Jake. I really appreciate it.” Mike had to stop himself from saying you at the end of that sentence. After his little speech, he stood up and served Quinn before himself. “You fed Jake already I’m guessing.”
Quinn: “It’s no problem,” she says, smiling at him and his reaction to the dish she made for them. She nods her head at his next question, looking over at the baby. “Yep. But he might get hungry again since it was like twenty minutes for the nap he took. And he just woke up a little bit before you got home,” she informs him. She’s always nervous about not feeding a baby enough or feeding them too much. She was the same way when Shelby let her watch Beth. “Do you think he’s hungry again?”
Mike: Mike smiled at Quinn before answering her question. “You’ll know if that little boy is hungry. He will cry and not stop. He let’s his needs be known,” the dancer half jokes. The dinner was spent in comfortable silence with some slight conversation between the two. When Mike was almost done with his meal, he thought of an idea. “Would you like to watch Pitch Perfect after make us some hot chocolate?”
Quinn: Quinn glances between Mike and Jake when he says the baby would cry, laughing a little. “Good method,” she jokes lightly before eating. She doesn’t eat too much, her appetite hardly ever there anymore. But she eats a little more than she would normally have. After dinner, she listens to his idea before smiling and nodding her head. “That sounds perfect.”
Mike: Once both of them were done with their meals, Mike takes both of their plates into the kitchen. When he walks back into the living room to get the left over lasagna, he looks at Quinn and playfully narrows his eyes. “Don’t even think about helping with the clean up. You cooked, so I can clean. Just go make yourself comfortable with Jake in the living room.” The dancer then walked into the kitchen and started. It didn’t take him too long once he put the lasagna in a container and in the fridge. Once everything was clean and put away, he made them both hot chocolate. He made sure to use french vanilla in Quinn’s and then walked both cups out into the living room. “I hope I used enough french vanilla in yours,” Mike says as he hands her the cup and sits down on the couch.
Quinn: Scoffing lightly, she stops what she was doing. She always felt weird having people wait on her but he seemed kind of serious. And he gave her permission to play with Jake while he did the work so she wasn’t going to fight him on it. Grabbing the small boy, she walks into the living and takes a seat on the couch, tickling him lightly, laughing along with him until Mike reappears. “Thank you,” he says, taking the mug and sipping on the hot cocoa. “Mm, perfect. Thank you, again.” She leans forward and sets it on the coffee table, cradling Jake closer to her as she waited for Mike to get the movie all set up.
Mike: Seeing Quinn with his son always made him smile. He couldn’t help but imagine how things could be if the blonde was with him. The three of them work so well together, but he couldn’t say anything. He would respect Quinn’s wishes. He walked over to the TV, put in the DVD, and then sat back down on the couch with the remote. “It’s almost the little guy’s bedtime. When he starts dozing, just let me know, and I’ll tuck him in if you want.” The movie started and Mike had to fight the urge to put his arm around the blonde as he leaned back.
Quinn: She nods her head lightly at him, looking down at Jake for a long moment before at the screen. She figured she could put him away but then again, this is Mike’s baby and he probably wants to say goodnight and everything so she wasn’t going to take that from him. She didn’t want to overstep with him and the baby. Leaning back in the couch, she focuses on the movie, only looking to Jake whenever he starts to squirm around, obviously not liking that her attention wasn’t on him anymore.
Mike: Jake moving around, brought Mike’s attention back to his soon. After being his father for so long, he knew that him fidgeting was him beginning to get tired. Mike briefly paused the movie and got up. Smiling down at Quinn, he offered the blonde his hand to pull her up. “Want to come with me to go put him down? He is going to miss you like when you head back. I can tell.”
Quinn: She smiles at his offer and nods, feeling like it was some sort of right of passage to be there. “I’m gonna miss him,” she says, grabbing the hand he was offering to her and standing up from the couch and heading toward the room with Mike. “He’s so adorable and, well, I love babies. I might have to kidnap him,” she jokes, moving toward the crib, giving the small boy a kiss on the forehead before laying him down inside.
Mike: Holding Quinn’s hand felt right to Mike, and it was beginning to be a little impossible to stop his mind from wandering to the what ifs. He knew it would never try anything though. Quinn was better than that. Mike leant down and kissed Jake on the head after Quinn had said her goodnight. “How about you just come back whenever you want? We’ll Skype so you can see him too. I’ll update you on everything. It’s actually really nice to have someone to share this stuff with now.” Mike smiled and headed back into the living room after closing his bedroom door. He pressed play before sitting back down on the couch. He left his arm open as an open invitation for the cuddle monster.
Quinn: “I’d like that,” she says to Mike’s idea of her visiting and them Skyping. She wants to see more of happy Mike and it’s obvious that Jake makes him the happiest and she wanted to be involved in the boy’s life. Even if it’s just a friend that pops in every now and then for a visit. She sits back in her original spot at first, only leaning into him after a while. They were cuddling last night so she didn’t see what the big was about cuddling on the couch while watching a movie. “I love Fat Amy,” she whispers. “She’s hilarious.”
Mike: When Quinn leaned into him, Mike squeezed her slightly and leaned his head on top of hers. “She is the funniest. The dance moves aren’t too bad in this movie.” As the movie continued, Mike just continued to hold Quinn and laugh along to the funny parts. He was happy that he had gotten this movie for her. It seemed to make her happy. “Don’t forget to pack this movie in your bag. I got it for you.” After a beat, Mike decided to add part of what’s been on his mind. “Thank you for coming, Quinnifer. I’ve had an amazing time. I really needed this weekend.”
Quinn: “I especially liked the Mermaid dance,” she jokes. “I think Finn could even pull that off,” she continues. She laughs along with the movie but also listens for his laugh, liking the sound of it. She didn’t really get to hear too much of it back in school and she feels bad for missing out on that. “You didn’t have to do that,” she says, looking up at him. “Thank you for letting me come. I haven’t had this much fun in a long time.”
Mike: Mike playfully pushes his shoulder lightly into hers. “No, I didn’t. I did it because I like making you happy.” This weekend was a lot easier than he thought it would be. They weren’t awkward once, and everything felt natural. Of course, he had urges to kiss the blonde, but he was able to fight them off mostly. “I’m glad that we have fun when we’re together. Heck, even when we fight it never lasts long. It’s pretty cool.”
Quinn: “You do,” she says lightly. He should know that his efforts weren’t in vain and that she really was happy around him. He made her feel good about herself again and that gave her this strength everyone always seems to be talking about. “We do not fight!” She says with a scoff, crossing her arms over her chest, pretending to take offense to his statement. “Take that back right now,” she continues.
Mike: Mike scoffed at her antics. “Alright! We never fight because the mighty Quinn “Quinnifer” Fabray is always right.” Mike’s hands reached over and pulled her arms to uncross them lightly. He then moved her arms around playfully. “Now, no more angry Quinn,” he said while laughing.
Quinn: Quinn laughs at him before pulling her arms away from his hold, shoving him playfully. “You’re a dork,” she teases, glancing at the television and then back at him. “The movie’s ended,” she informed him, smiling a bit more. “Ready to get to bed?”
Mike: He shrugged his shoulders. “Yeah, but I’m your favorite dork.” For a second, he didn’t know how to answer her question. A part of him was tired, but another part of him didn’t want to go to bed. If he did, then it meant that Quinn’s visit would be over, and he wasn’t ready to let the blonde go yet. “Yeah, I guess. Tomorrow has to come sometime, right?”
Quinn: She shrugs her shoulders lightly at his question, pretending like she didn’t know if he was her favorite, giving him a teasing smile along with it. “We’ll hang out a little before I leave,” she says, getting up from the couch. “I’m going to use your room to change real quickly,” she tells him before walking off. She shuts the door behind her and grabs her bag, pulling out her pajamas and changing into them.
Mike: A small smile appeared on his face when Quinn mentioned that they would spend some time together before she left. “Alright Quinnifer.” While Mike was turning off the TV and all the lights, he heard his phone go off in his pocket. When he checked it, he saw a text from Britt. She sounded really upset. Mike walked over to the bedroom and knocked before entering. “Hey, Britt is really upset. I don’t know what happened, but you’re her friend too, and I thought you’d like to know.”
Quinn: Quinn was about to pull the door open when she heard the knock and then saw him enter, her brows furrow at his words. “She didn’t say anything?” She asks. She doesn’t know what’s going on with Brittany lately. First she seemed kind of down about some idiot guy and then the idea of being a stripper. She really hoped her friend was ok.
Mike: Mike shakes his head at her question, but when his phone beeps again he looks at it, and his fist in his free hand involuntarily clenched. He was fuming, and what was worse is that he couldn’t say anything to the blonde in front of him. Well, at least not give her any specifics. “That guy that she is in love with hurt her. Not physically or anything, but emotionally pretty badly.”
Quinn: Quinn sees his sudden change in demeanor and begins to worry even more. At the mention of this mystery guy, Quinn frowns. “Tell Brittany to stay away from this guy. Tell her he doesn’t deserve her love and that this guy is obviously an idiot to hurt her in any way, shape or form.”
Mike: At Quinn’s words Mike sits down on the edge of his bed and puts his head in his hands. He had typed out a version of what the blonde had said, but it was almost too much. Mike had to perfect opportunity to break up Quinn and Sam, but he couldn’t be that selfish. Even though Sam might not be much of his friend anymore after this, Quinn was, and he couldn’t hurt her for his personal gain. On the other hand, Sam was obviously losing more of himself every day, and Mike would hate himself if the blonde got hurt by him because Mike didn’t say anything. The question of whether to talk or stay quiet seemed like it would always be one to plague his life in some way or another. With his head still in his hands, he spoke. “I’m sorry Quinn. This is not the way I wanted to end our mini vacation
Quinn: Quinn smiles lightly and moves next to him on the bed, resting her head against his shoulder, trying to think of things she can do with Brittany once she gets back to cheer the girl up. “Not your fault this guy is mean to Britt,” she says once Mike apologizes to her. “And let’s not like this ruin anything, alright?” She lifts her head up and smiles at him some more. “Let’s just cuddle and go to bed like planned. I’ll check on Brittany when I get back to Lima tomorrow.”
Quinn joined the chat
Mike: He lets out a breath of air and scoots back to the top of the bed. He opens his arms for Quinn. “She is really hurt right now. This guy… she trusted him, and he just banned her from his life. She loves him, Quinn. I just… I just want to punch him. She doesn’t deserve this.” Mike sighs and wraps his arms around Quinn when she moves towards him. “This is all Britt and I are, you know. This is why we’re so close. I know that you have no right to know this stuff or whatever, but I’m telling you because I want to. You’re one of my best friends. If there is ever some girl that I might want to put in the picture, I’ll let you know.” He lightly nudges her head with his own. “Okay? I don’t think you have anything to worry about in the near future though. It’s not just me I have to think about now, but Jake. I don’t want to introduce people to him unless I’m sure they’ll stick.” The statement was a heavy one, and Mike knew that. He was putting out there just how much he trusted the blonde, and if she looked even deeper into it, she would see that he was saying how much he believed in the two of them as well. His feelings weren’t the most important right then though. All he cared about was letting Quinn know how much she believed in her when it came to his son, how much he knew she was good.
Quinn: She frowns as Mike continues to talk about this problem with Brittany. She wishes she could be there for the blonde right now, to tell her how much the guy wasn’t worth it and maybe even find out who it was and go off on him. Brittany didn’t deserve this. She was sweet and innocent and yea, sometimes mean butt hen again, they all were. Either way, Brittany gave this guy her love and he just threw it back in her face. She looks up at Mike when he begins to tell her about how he’s just friends with Brittany and how he’s probably not going to be with anyone soon. She didn’t really expect that since he has Jake but it was nice to hear. And the meaning of his words didn’t go unnoticed by her. She smiles lightly before closing her eyes. “Thank you,” she whispers. “Goodnight, Magic Mike.”
Mike: He places a innocent kiss on Quinn’s head before squeezing her one last time. “Thank you. Goodnight, Quinnifer.”
